Spetses Museum is housed in Chatzigianni- Mexi mansion, who was one of the first rulers in Spetses in years of struggle for National Independence. The mansion was built between the years 1795 and 1798 and is shaped as a Π. It consists of a ground floor and two floors.
The ground floor houses an exhibition of findings of the Mycenaean shipwreck of Iria around 1200 BC. On the first floor you will see findings of more than 4,000 years of cultural history of the island. The exhibits include pottery of the Early Hellenic and Classical period, sculptures and coins from the Roman and Byzantine periods, Byzantine icons and other religious objects, costumes and everyday objects. In the relics of the contribution of Spetses in the War of Independence in 1821, you will see the Flag of Revolution, the bones of Laskarina Bouboulina, weapons and portraits of Spetses naval battle and watercolor and oil paintings of ships.
