Finikoudes Beach is located at Larnaca and is considered one of the most popular beaches of Cyprus. "Finikoudes " means small palm trees but as they were planted in 1922, they are now big trees). The beach has fine gray sand and it is 500 meters long and 30 to 100 meters wide. The place is known for its cafes, bars, restaurants and hotels. Also, in the surroundings you can find several small grocery stores and kiosks. The main street of the city is Athens Avenue which is beautifully decorated with palm trees and flower beds.
The beach offers several facilities such as toilets, showers, changing rooms, footpaths which can also be used by people with mobility problems, sun loungers and umbrellas. Also, there are well-trained lifeguards to ensure the safety of the bathers and those who do water sports.
The beach is easily accessible by bus or car or on foot. There are parking areas near the beach.
The sea is clean and in line with the EU regulations (Bathing Water Directive). The Festival of the Flood takes place here every June and it lasts for two weeks.
