Near Evgati, in an inaccessible cave, you will find the Church of Panagia Kakaviotissa. In 1305 it became part of the Monastery of Ayia Lavra. Monks from Ayios Efstratios village, which belonged to the monastery, found shelter in the chapel to protect themselves from the raids of the Turks. The chapel has no roof but it is well protected from the rocks of the cave.
